What We Cover

DMLS Metal Parts

Direct Metal Laser Sintering produces fully dense metal parts (99.5% theoretical density) from CAD files without tooling in 5–10 business days. Six certified alloys: Ti6Al4V (993–1,055 MPa), 17-4 PH (1,365–1,372 MPa), 316L (565–586 MPa), AlSi10Mg (268–345 MPa), Inconel 718 (958 MPa, stable to 700°C), CoCrMo (1,213–1,255 MPa). Build envelopes to 31.5" × 15.7" × 19.7".

Design for AM

DMLS enables topology-optimized geometry that machining cannot produce. Our DfAM service covers mass reduction (30–70% typical), internal channel design for conformal cooling, lattice structures (gyroid, BCC, TPMS) for lightweight applications, and support strategy to minimize post-processing cost. Free DFM analysis with every quote.

Post-Processing

As-printed DMLS parts require post-processing for structural applications. Standard chain: stress relief (800°C vacuum for Ti, 650°C for steel) → HIP for fatigue-critical parts → CNC machining on functional surfaces → surface finishing. Bead blast: Ra 1.6 µm. Electropolish: Ra 0.4 µm. Anodizing for titanium and aluminum.

Rapid Prototyping

DMLS prototypes carry the same mechanical properties as production parts — same alloy, same process, same post-processing. First article in 48 hours for standard alloys. Quote in 4 hours. Minimum order 1 part, no setup fee. Appropriate when stress analysis, fatigue testing, or regulatory submission requires the production material.
